Here’s my truth. I’ve enjoyed working with Wayne Eardley for a long time. He’s a talented man with a big heart. For a project intended to make use of some extra footage, he gave me black and white footage of students with an extraordinary amount of lens flares.

I had grown a liking to these unusual lens flares in the footage and I put them all together for effect.

The black and white Super8 film stock was just one of many types that Wayne used in his work which he routinely mixes with digital photographs and video.

I found a track by Cornelius (called Wataridori 2) from which I excerpted the thirty-second clip for this sting. This was only intended as a demo of the idea — a spec ad that we pitched to Fleming but they weren’t quite sold.

I would have replaced the music with something by aquapher had I not suddenly succumb to a kind of resignation to stick to my truth here and publish the videos from my archives “as is” so-to-speak and some are married to the commercial tracks that were originally used.

Copyright infringement on YouTube is circumnavigated through third-party ads. I’m not sure what the future holds for these videos online but I’m committed to posting the reality of it.

More soon so stay tuned! —LA
